CUG CD-ROM Volumes listed by platform
Foreword
The Platform associated with each CUG volume
indicates the general computing environments (CPU and/or
operating systems) it supports. Here are some examples:
- A program running on three or more Unix platforms
systems will also earn the generic platform designation
of Unix (e.g. DEC Ultrix, HP-UX, and Solaris)
- A Program running on four or more platforms will earn
the distinction of Highly Portable
- A Cross Assembler that runs under MS-DOS and creates
6800 Assembly language as output will be listed under
both MS-DOS and 6800
- If a program runs under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and
has no platform-specific features (e.g. 32-bit API calls)
will be designated under the lowest-common denominator
(Windows 3.1)
- No distinction is made between any Intel or compatible
brands of CPUs unless a Pentium (or better) is required
